Dr. Xu received his B.Sc. degree of mechanical engineering from Shenyang Aerospace University in 2002 and his M.Sc. degree of mathematics from Zhejiang University in 2005. He obtained his Ph.D. degree of mechanical engineering from Lehigh University in 2010.

Dr.  C. Xu is currently Professor and Associate Director in the Institute for Cyber-Systems & Control (CSC), Zhejiang University. Since the beginning of 2018, Dr. Xu started to serve the Assistant Dean of the College of Control Science & Engineering. He also serves as the Managing-Editor in Journal of Industrial and Management Optimization (JIMO), the Associate Editor of the Numerical Algebra, Control and Optimization (NACO), the Associate Editor of Information & Control Technology (a Chinese Journal). He is the co-founder of the IET Cyber-Systems and Robotics. Also, Dr. Xu is an affiliate member of the State Key Laboratory of Industrial Control Technology, and serves the founding committee of the Interdisciplinary Center for Quantum Information.

His research team at ZJU has carried out a few research grants from the National Science Foundation of China, the 863 High-Tech Foundation, and Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology (SAST) Innovation Foundation, Zhejiang Provincial National Science Foundation, and etc.

Dr. Xu was selected to receive the American Control Conference Best Student Paper Finalist Award in 2008, the First Place Award of the National Academy of Engineering Grand Challenges Summit Poster Contest in 2009, the Outstanding Paper Award of the 13th International Conference on Control, Automation and Systems,  and the Fellowship of Brown International Research Institutions in 2013. As the advisor, he supervised student teams winning the Champion of the International Aerial Robotics Competition in 2018 for the 7th IARC mission (2014 – 2018), and the First Place Award of the (Chinese) National University Students Opt-Sci-Tech Competition in 2016. Also, he supervised undergraduate students winning the 3rd place prize of the 11th World Robotic Sailing Championship (WRSC) Micro-sailboat class in 2018.

Research interest of Dr. Xu is Control of Robots & Turbulence.

许超博士,浙江大学控制科学与工程学院教授、博士生导师,入选浙江省151人才工程第三层次培养人员(2017年),浙江省自动化学会理事、中国自动化学会“自适应动态规划与强化学习”、“无人飞行器自主控制”等专委会委员。2002年毕业于沈阳航空航天大学机械工程系获工学学士学位,2005年毕业于浙江大学数学系获理学硕士学位,2010年毕业于美国理海大学机械工程与力学系获博士学位,随后加入浙江大学智能系统与控制研究所(CSC),现任副所长;自2018年起,担任浙江大学控制科学与工程学院院长助理。 先后主持承担自然科学基金、863以及上海航天科技创新基金项目十余项。目前担任《工业与管理优化》期刊(Journal of Industrial and Management Optimization,简称JIMO,SCI检索期刊)执行主编(Managing Editor)、Numerical Algebra, Control and Optimization (NACO)编委(Associate Editor)、信息与控制技术编委;共同发起创办IET Cyber-Systems & RoboticsIET智能系统与机器人)期刊。许超博士曾获美国工程院高峰论坛最佳海报奖、美国控制会议最佳学生论文奖提名、ICCAS杰出论文奖(2013年)、布朗大学国际研究院 Fellowship、浙大信息学部教师奖等多项荣誉。作为指导老师,曾带领学生团队获得国际空中机器人大赛第一名(2016年、2017)、全国光电设计大赛一等奖(2016年)等多项荣誉称号;2018年,带领ZMART夺得国际空中机器人大赛世界冠军,终结第七代任务。许超博士是浙江大学工业控制技术国家重点实验室固定研究人员。
